The Charm of the Corset

Published on Author CorsetMaster

Dear Sir, – For a considerable time past I have been a regular reader of your fascinating paper, and although a “mere man,” have been very interested in the correspondence re corsets.

It appears to me that, as in many other good things, the real charm of the corset is somewhat prejudiced by extremists in both directions.

Many of the present-day fashions appear to decree that there must be no semblance of a waist, and even a naturally beautiful figure must be draped so as to have the appearance of being devoid of shape; but, on the other hand, when waists were in vogue many of us can remember the days when fashion demanded extremely tight lacing. I suggest that the ideal period was about 1,12-1 14, when tight lacing was not usual, and a girl could look extremely nice in a very comfortable corset!

There is no doubt that many can, and do, derive a lot of pleasure form wearing a well-fitting corset.

 Yours faithfully,

 “WAISTY READER.”
